Nonlinear Feedback Control Synthesis
Sponsored by Rockwell International

Our objective is to transition new nonlinear control theory and nonlinear feedback synthesis approaches to practical control design methods. We are currently using the problem of controlling the attitude of a rigid body as a model problem for nonlinear control design. In particular, the problem of global attitude stabilization has the challenging features of a nonlinear state space (involving the space of rotations SO(3)) and nonlinear dynamics.
